RasterCellOriginSetter

Sets the cell origin point within cells in a raster.

Jump to Configuration

Typical Uses

  • Adjusting cell origins to align data from varying formats or sources.
  • Adjusting the position, relative to cells, of points produced by vectorizing rasters.
  • Adjusting a raster’s cell origin to meet format or processing requirements.

How does it work?

The RasterCellOriginSetter receives raster features and sets the Cell Origin raster property to coordinates between 0,0 and 1,1.

The cell origin differs from the raster origin. The cell origin is a point of reference within every cell, whereas the raster origin refers to point of origin of the entire raster.

0,0 represents the lower left corner of the cell, and 1,1 the upper right.

Lower left (0,0) and center (0.5,0.5) cell origins are common among raster formats, and sometimes need adjustment to align features from different sources.

This transformer is unaffected by raster band and palette selection.

Usage Notes

Choosing a Raster Transformer

FME has an extensive selection of transformers for working with raster data. They can be generally categorized as working with whole rasters, bands, cells or palettes, and those designed for workflow control or combining raster with vector data.

For information on raster geometry and properties, see Rasters (IFMERaster).
