TextLocationExtractor

Replaces text with its location geometry, usually a point.

Jump to Configuration

Typical Uses

  • Converting text labels to points
  • Working with complex annotation input
  • Restoring non-point geometry stored with text

How does it work?

The TextLocationExtractor receives features with text geometry and converts them to whatever non-text geometry exists on the feature.

This will usually be a point, but may also be a line or curve representing annotation, or geometry of any type that has been stored using the TextAdder.

Text properties including the text string, size, and rotation are discarded. To extract them into attribute values, use a TextPropertyExtractor prior to the TextLocationExtractor.
