LabelPointReplacer

Replaces point, line, or area geometry with a single text label.

Jump to Configuration

Typical Uses

  • Labeling areas and points

How does it work?

The LabelPointReplacer receives area, point, or linear features and replaces them with a single text label. Label height is specified in ground units.

Label position and orientation varies according to the input geometry.

Input Geometry

Label Placement

Result

Point

Label is placed on the point.

Line

Label is placed at the mid-point of the line, angled to the orientation of the line segment at that location.

Note that the Labeller is generally recommended for labeling lines.

Area

Label is placed somewhere within the polygon.

Area - Irregular

Label is placed somewhere within the polygon.

Area - Donut

Label is placed somewhere within the polygon but outside any donut holes.

Usage Notes

  • Collision avoidance is not available in this transformer - labels may overlap.

  • The Labeller is generally more useful for labeling lines.
