Unable to Use SASL Authentication

Log file message:

(Active Directory) Not using SASL for authentication, because configuration is incomplete.

Cause

Although SASL Authentication is enabled, the Authentication Realm was expected in the form of a fully-qualified domain name (FQDN), but not explicitly specified.

Resolution

Use the SECURITY_AD_SASL_OPTION_REALM configuration parameter to specify an FQDN.
