Installing for N-Tier Architecture (3-Tier)

Before installing a 3-tier FME Server architecture, make sure you have:

• Read and understood FME Server and N-Tier Architecture.
• Reviewed Install FME Server: Before You Begin.
• Provided the prerequisites in Before Installation.

To perform a 3-tier installation of FME Server:

1. Install the FME Server Core and FME Engines.
2. Install the FME Server Services.
3. Configure the FME Server Database on your database server.
4. Request and Install a License.
5. (Upgrade Only) Restore your FME Server Configuration from a Previous Installation.
6. (Recommended) Update the Windows service accounts that run the FME System Services.

What's Next?

• Optimize: You can scale-up your FMEServer by:
  • Adding FME Engines on separate machines that are closer to your data.
  • Increasing the number of FME Engines that run when you start FME Server.
