Typical Uses

  • Stopping a workspace under specific conditions and reporting either success or failure.

How does it work?

The Terminator stops a workspace whenever it receives a feature, and reports a status and specified message to FME.

The reported Translation Termination Status may be either:

  • Failure (default): The translation stops immediately and is reported as a failure to FME or FME Flow. A log message is emitted at Error severity.
  • Success: The translation stops immediately and is reported as a success to FME or FME Flow. A log message is emitted at Information severity.

Redirecting to FME Data Inspector

Alternately, the Terminator may be redirected using Workspace Parameters > Order and Redirect > Terminator Redirect.

All features that enter a Terminator are sent to a Data Inspector and the translation continues without stopping. A message is added to the log file.
