Microsoft Access Writer Feature Type Parameters
To access feature type parameters, click the gear icon on a feature type in the workspace to open the Feature Type Parameter Editor. To always display the editor in Workbench, you can select View > Windows > Parameter Editor.
General
All feature types share similar General parameters, which may include the Feature Type Name, Reader or Writer Name, and Geometry.
In most Writer Feature Type parameter dialogs, you can also control Dynamic Schema Definitions. Some database formats accept a Table Qualifier prefix on the output table feature type.
See Editing Writer Feature Types for more information.
These parameters apply only to a selected feature type, not to the entire writer.
Tip: If a feature type parameter listed here conflicts with a writer-level parameter, then the writer parameter will be ignored and this feature type parameter will be used.
Table Settings: General
The name of the table to be written.
If a table with the specified name exists, it will be overwritten if the Drop Table Feature Type parameter is set to Yes, or it will be truncated if the Truncate Table Feature Type parameter is set to Yes. Otherwise, the table will be appended.
Valid values for table names include any character string devoid of SQL-offensive characters and less than 128 characters in length.
Specifies how features will be written into the destination table. Supported feature operations are:
- Inherit from Writer: Take the value from the writer level (do not override the value at the feature type level).
- Insert: Append rows onto the destination table using attributes on features.
- Update: Update existing table columns using attributes on features. A selection method must be specified in the Row Selection group.
- Delete: Delete existing table rows. A selection method must be specified in the Row Selection group.

If the destination table does not exist, create it. If the destination table exists, and if this parameter is set to Yes, drop destination table, then create it.
Note: This parameter is valid only if the feature reaches the writer.
If the destination table does not exist, create it. If the destination table exists, and if this parameter is set to Yes, delete all rows from existing table.
Note: This parameter is valid only if the feature reaches the writer.
This is a comma-separated list of the columns that are matched against the corresponding FME attribute values to specify which rows are to be updated or deleted when the writer mode is either Update or Insert.
For example, name, capital would instruct the writer to ensure that the corresponding FME attributes are always matched against the column with the same name.
