Overview: X3D and VRML Writers
X3D (Extensible 3D Graphics) and (VRML Virtual Reality Modelling Language) are 3D vector formats which use the same underlying graphics model. X3D is an XML representation of the model, while VRML is a different text-based representation of the model. The FME format abbreviations are X3D and VRML.
FME can produce both representations of 3D geometries. X3D is suitable for inclusion in other XML based files, such as HTML. VRML has widespread support as an interchange format for 3D models, with many applications supporting the import of 3D models.
