DocumentPDF Writer Parameters

If set, the footer of the document will contain a page number.

  • Starting From Page – Enter the page to begin displaying page numbers.
  • Alignment – Where in the footer to position the page number: Left, Center, or Right.

DocumentPDF supports creating PDF/A compliant documents. PDF/A is an ISO standard for the long-term archiving of electronic documents, ensuring that the document can be reproduced exactly the same way in the future.

If a specific compliance level is set, the output PDF will be created according to that standard. If set to None, the document will be created as a standard PDF.

  • Basic Compliance (PDF/A-2B) – This level ensures a baseline of graphic content self-contained within the PDF for long-term archiving.

  • Unicode Support (PDF/A-2U) – This level adds the requirement that all text within the document be reliably mapped to Unicode.

  • Extended Features (PDF/A-3B) – This level allows for the embedding of non-PDF/A compliant files within the PDF container.

  • Extended with Unicode (PDF/A-3U) – This level permits embedded files while requiring that all text within the document be reliably mapped to Unicode.

  • Modern Archive (PDF/A-4) – This is a comprehensive archiving standard based on newer ISO specifications for PDF files.

  • Modern Archive with Enhancements (PDF/A-4E) – This level is optimized for engineering workflows and supports rich media and annotations.

Metadata is general information about the document to help with cataloging and searching in external databases.

Keywords associated with the document.

PDF document page sizes can be adjusted to fit several common standards, as well as custom dimensions.

Note  Page size can be changed partway through a document. See the documentpdf_page_size format attribute for more information.

Sets the page size of all following pages.

Values:

  • A3 – 297 x 420 mm (11.69 x 16.54 inches)
  • A4 – 210 x 297 mm (8.3 x 11.7 inches)
  • A5 – 148 x 210 mm (5.83 x 8.27 inches)
  • Custom – Set page width, page height, and page unit
  • Letter – 215.9 x 279.4 mm (8.5 x 11 inches )
  • Legal – 215.9 x 355.6 mm (8.5 x 14 inches)

Page Width

If Page Size is Custom, specify the width of the custom page size in the units specified in Page Unit.

Page Height

If Page Size is Custom, specify the height of the custom page size in the units specified in Page Unit.

Page Unit

If Page Size is Custom, specify the unit of Page Width and Page Height.

Page Orientation

Sets the orientation of the page. Page orientation will be ignored when using a custom page size.

Values:

  • Landscape
  • Portrait
