List attributes are FME's way of allowing multiple values per attribute.
Some FME readers represent recurring values in the original data source in a list. As well, some transformers create a list as a result of their processing, usually when attributes from different features are grouped into a single feature.
Once you have a list, a number of other transformers are available for working with them.
