Provide a Web Application Server

The FME Server Java web services must switch to the failover FME Server when the connection to the primary FME Server is lost. A Web Application Server must be installed on a separate machine and configured for fault tolerance.

Supported web application servers include Apache Tomcat and Oracle WebLogic.

Note: The native OGC web services are not supported when using WebLogic.

You must know the port number on which your web application server receives incoming requests and the path to the directory where your web application server stores web application .war files. (This directory is sometimes called webapps.)

Additionally, you must allow the necessary system accounts permission to run the Web application Server. For more information, see Directory and Account Permissions.

For more information on installing the web services, see Install the FME Server Services and Configure for Failover.
