Lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP) is the name of a standard protocol that allows access to a directory.
In the context of FME Server and Active Directory:
- Active Directory is the directory that contains records for user accounts, service accounts, computers, and others.
- FME Server can be configured to communicate to Active Directory using the LDAP protocol.
