Working with FME Cloud Instances
An FME Cloud instance is a virtual machine (the server) with FME Server (the software) and PostGIS (a database for storing spatial and non-spatial data) installed. This is your own dedicated machine. Absolutely no one else has access to your environment while you are connected.
The machine runs on Ubuntu 12.04 OS, and uses Amazon Elastic Block Storage (EBS) for highly reliable and available local storage.
The FME Server installation is a fully-tested build of the software, running on the Linux 64-bit platform.
All FME Cloud instances are configured to use UTF-8 character encoding, and run in the UTC time zone.
To check out the data formats available in the latest release, see the Complete List of Formats Supported by FME.
