Surface

Surfaces are geometries that have a planar area. Surfaces must be 3D (x,y,z).

A face is one example of a surface feature. It is a planar polygon or donut stored as a true 3D feature.

Some surfaces contain holes, in much the same way as a donut area.

The boundaries of surfaces are areas.

Simple surfaces are composed of a single component, while composite surfaces may be composed of several surface components.
