FME Flow: 2024.2

Gallery Apps

Select Flow Apps > Manage Gallery Apps.

Gallery apps allow your clients to access multiple Workspace Apps, Automation Apps, and other links from single, customizable web pages. Each gallery app generates a unique, shareable URL. You can allow unauthenticated access to the URL, or require access only to specified FME Flow users, who must provide login credentials.

The Gallery Apps tab of the Flow Apps page lists the gallery apps that have been created.

  • To open a gallery app, or copy an app's URL, click the View or URL icon of the corresponding app, respectively.
  • Note  To view any workspace app or automation app included in a gallery app, you must have Run permission on that app in Server Workspace Apps or Server Automation Apps, respectively.
  • To edit a gallery app, click on it.
  • To remove a gallery app, select it and click Remove.

Getting Started with Gallery Apps

Once you've decided which workspace apps you want to include, you can create a gallery app page quickly and easily, without any coding required.

To Create a Gallery App

  1. Click Create under the Gallery Apps tab, or select Flow Apps > Create Gallery App. The Create Gallery Server (or Duplicating) App dialog opens. Complete or update the following:
    • Name: Provide a name for the app. The Name forms the final path component of the URL, and is case-insensitive.
    • Title: (optional) Appears beneath the heading on the gallery app page.
    • Description: (optional) Appears beneath the Title on the gallery app page. Use the toolbar to customize as desired.
    • Links: (optional) Click Add Links to add workspace apps or other links to the app. Links appear beneath the Description on the gallery app page.
      1. On the Add Server App Gallery Link dialog, provide the following:
        • Type: Specify if the link is a Workspace App, Automation App, or other URL.
        • Workspace App, Automation App, or URL: If Type is Workspace App or Automation App, select a workspace app or automation app, respectively, to add to the gallery. If Type is URL, enter a URL.
        • Label: (optional) Appears beneath the link Image on the gallery app page.
        • Tooltip: (optional) Appears when you mouse over the link on the gallery app page.
        • Image: (optional) A clickable icon to reference the link on the gallery app page.
      2. Click Add Link.
      3. To add more links to the gallery, click Add Link again, as necessary. To remove a link, select it and click Remove.
    • Require Authentication: To allow only designated Users of FME Flow authenticated access to the gallery app, move the slider to the right. Expand Allowed Users and select the users you want to provide access. The specified users must provide their FME Flow login credentials to access the gallery.
    • Note  To view any workspace app or automation app included in a gallery app, you must have Run permission on that app in Server Workspace Apps or Server Automation Apps, respectively.

If Require Authentication is not enabled, login credentials are not required by anyone with access to the gallery app.

  2. (Optional) To customize the appearance of the gallery app, expand Customize and provide the following:
  3. Note  Icon, Logo, and Banner fields support only .jpg and .png files.
    • Browser Icon: A clickable icon to reference the app URL.
    • Heading Background Color: A background color to comprise the banner at the top of the app page. Appears behind Heading Banner, if transparent.
    • Heading Logo: Appears over Heading Banner and/or Heading Background Color, centered.
    • Heading Banner: An image to comprise the banner at the top of the app page. If transparent, appears over Heading Background Color.
    • Footer Text: Appears beneath the Links on the app page. Use the toolbar to customize as desired.
    • Footer Logo: Appears beneath Footer Text, and behind Footer Banner, if transparent.
    • Footer Banner: An image to comprise the banner at the bottom of the app page. If transparent, appears over Footer Logo.
  4. Click OK. A page displays with the URL of the gallery app. To open the app, click the URL. To return to the Gallery Apps tab of the Flow apps page, click OK.
