FME Form: 2024.1
Parameter Presets
If you are a regular FME user, you may often apply the same parameter values to the same transformers, readers, or writers. For example, you may use the same password in a Joiner transformer or the same tolerance in a Snapper transformer. Presets allow you to save your own sets of parameter values so you can easily use them again and override the installed (FME) default values.
The Presets button on a Parameters dialog allows you to create, load, update, and delete presets.
To Create a Preset
- Set the parameters as desired.
- Click Presets > Save As > New Preset.
- In the Create Preset dialog, enter a name for the new preset. Optionally, if you want this preset to apply by default whenever you add this transformer, reader, or writer, select Preferred Default Set. (You can always change the default set—see below.)
- Click OK.
To Load Preset Parameter Values or the Installed (FME) Defaults
- Click Presets > Load
- Select the preset name you want to load. To load the installed (FME) default values, select Load FME Defaults.
To Update the Values of a Preset
- Set the parameters as desired.
- Click Presets > Save As.
- Select the preset name you want to update.
To Change the Preset that Applies by Default Whenever You Work with this Transformer, Reader, or Writer
- Click Presets > Change Default Set.
- Select the preset name you want to apply by default. To use the installed (FME) default values, select FME Defaults.
To Delete a Preset
- Select Presets > Delete.
- Select the preset name you want to delete. You cannot delete FME Default presets.
- In the Delete Confirmation dialog, click OK.
