NMEA GPS Reader
FME reads GPS sentences from NMEA 0183 files.
Many GPS devices produce outputs according to the NMEA 0183 specification. NMEA 0183 files are written in ASCII, and can contain waypoints and tracks. Track points can contain information on speed and course.

Dependencies To use FME to translate to or from this format, you may need to install GPSBabel. GPSBabel is a free tool for converting between various GPS formats. Download GPSBabel from http://www.gpsbabel.org.

Reader Overview
FME considers a single NMEA 0183 file to be a dataset. All features in each dataset use the LL84 coordinate system.
