Developing with the Web Services

FME Server provides a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) that brings all the capabilities of the FME platform to a server environment. The web services that ship with FME Server allow you to build powerful spatial web applications with a minimal amount of server-side code.

The web services are comprised of two main components that enable you to build these applications:

FME Server Transformation Services: Allows you to run workspaces uploaded to FME Server.
REST Service: Provides a simple, open web interface for accessing core FME Server functionality, enabling you to do anything from run a workspace to cancel a running job.
