Downloading from FME Server

Note: To download from FME Server, you must have an FME Server configured and available. For information, contact your System Administrator.

Choose File > Download from FME Server, or click in the Workbench toolbar.

If you open the Log window, you can view connection and processing statistics while you are connected to the FME Server.

Connect to an FME Server

This wizard pane allows you to specify the connection parameters for the FME Server you wish to connect to. Workbench provides two connection methods for FME Server connections:

Connection Type – Direct Connection

Host: The hostname of the FME Server to which you want to connect.

Port: The port of the FME Server to which you want to connect. The default port is 7071.

Connection Type – Web Connection

URL: The URL of the FME Server to which you want to connect.

Credentials

Username: The username for the FME Server login account.

Password: The required password for the account.

Dialog Buttons
Test... The Test... button at the bottom of the dialog allows you to test the FME Server connection parameters.
Defaults

The Defaults button allows you to override the default connection parameters with your own, or reset the connection parameters to the default.

Save as My Defaults: Choose this option to save connection parameters for all the fields on the page.

Reset to My Defaults: If previously saved defaults in this field have been edited, you can reset your own defaults.

Click the Next button.

Note for FME 2012: If you try to publish to an older version of FME Server, you will see a warning indicating that certain features may be lost or not be available.

Download Repository Item

Workspaces, custom formats and custom transformers are stored inspecific folders (called "repositories") on FME Server.

Repository Name: The name of the repository to publish to. Select a repository from the pull-down list, or click the New... button and create a new repository on FME Server. 

Workspace/Custom Transformer/Custom Format Name:This is the name of the current workspace, custom transformer, or custom format to be published to FME Server.

Existing Workspaces: This area lists the items that are currently stored in the repository. To overwrite (or update) an existing item, select that item from the list. Or, accept the name of your current workspace.

Click Download. You will be prompted to save the file to a local directory.

Note that a downloaded workspace will open automatically in FME Workbench.
