Instance Types
FME Flow Hosted instances are powered by the Amazon EC2 web service. When you launch an FME Flow Hosted instance, the instance type that you specify determines the hardware of the host computer used for your instance. Each instance type offers different compute and memory capabilities. Select an instance type based on the requirements of the application you plan to run on the instance. If your needs change, you can change your instance type later on.
For instance type pricing, see FME Flow Hosted Pricing.
FME Flow Hosted provides the following instance types:
- Standard: This instance type enables you to run two FME Engines. Extra RAM supports more data-intensive tasks. For specifications, refer to Instance Type "m5.large" here.
- Professional: A great balance of compute, memory, and network resources. Four FME Engines enable large volumes of parallel data processing. For specifications, refer to Instance Type "m5.xlarge" here.
- Select: A balanced option between the Professional and Premium types, providing eight FME Engines and 32 GB of RAM. For specifications, refer to Instance Type "m5.2xlarge" here.
- Premium: An extremely competent environment to undertake data processing tasks. 16 FME Engines and 64GB of RAM ensure that larger, memory-intensive datasets can be tackled. For specifications, refer to Instance Type "m5.4xlarge" here.
- Enterprise: Optimized for applications that benefit from high compute power. With 48 virtual CPUs, this instance type provides the lowest memory cost per CPU. For specifications, refer to Instance Type "m5.12xlarge" here.
