Here's just a brief overview of some interface updates to FME Workbench as well as a list of new transformers.
For a detailed list of updates, please view the 2008 What's Great PDF.
From Workbench, you can communicate directly with an FME Server by publishing and downloading workspaces.
We have added many more enhancements to the user interface. Here are just a few:
Help menu integration: Reference files are now included in the Workbench Help menu.

You can disable selected workspace links. For example, if you are testing a large workspace and want to isolate or simplify some functionality, it is easier to disable a link than to remove it.
We have added more Workbench options, including FME Server defaults.
You asked for it! We have added more examples, with many more to come. If you can't find what you're looking for, search our fmepedia site for answers.
New Transformers: FME 2008 includes over 40 new transformers – click here to see the list.
Using the parameter Search Envelope Coordinate System, you can enter reader search envelope parameters in a different coordinate system than the actual data itself.
FME Readers and Writers and FME Functions and Factories manuals: We have added many new formats, functions and factories. The detailed reference manuals are included as separate, fully searchable help files. Pick FME Readers and Writers Reference or FME Functions and Factories Reference from the Help menu.
