Reusing User Parameter Values with Presets

With presets, you can save multiple sets of user parameter values for a workspace, and reuse them at your convenience. Presets are useful when a workspace is shared with other users who want to apply their own values for user parameters, or when you move a workspace between the different stages of the development lifecycle, and each stage uses a different set of values.

You can create presets for both published and private parameters, and specify presets when Running a Workspace with Published Parameters.

To Create a Preset

  1. Create your user parameters for the workspace.
  2. In the Navigator window, right-click a user parameter node, depending on the scope of the preset you want to create, and select Edit User Parameter Values.
    • To create a preset that includes both published and private parameter values, right-click on User Parameters.
    • To create a preset that includes only published parameter values, expand User Parameters and right-click on Published Parameters.
    • To create a preset that includes only private parameter values, expand User Parameters and right-click on Private Parameters.
  3. In the Edit User Parameter Defaults dialog, specify the parameter values you want for the preset, and click Presets > Save As > New Preset.
  4. In the Create Preset dialog, enter a name for the new preset. Optionally, if you want this preset to apply by default whenever you run this workspace, select Preferred Default Set. (You can always change the default set—see below.)
  5. Click OK.

To Load Preset Parameter Values

  1. Click Presets.
  2. Select Load<'preset_name'> for the preset you want to load.

To Update the Values of a Preset

  1. Open the Edit User Parameters Defaults dialog as described above.
  2. Specify the parameter values you want for the updated preset.
  3. Click Presets > Save As.
  4. Select the preset name you want to update.

To Change the Preset that Applies by Default Whenever You Run this Workspace

  1. Click Presets > Change Default Set.
  2. Select the preset name you want to apply by default.

To Delete a Preset

  1. Select Presets > Delete.
  2. Select the preset name you want to delete.
  3. In the Delete Confirmation dialog, click OK.
