The Google Cloud Messaging subscriber receives notifications from topics and delivers messages to a Google Android device, such as a Samsung Galaxy S3. The subscriber pushes messages to an Android app installed on the target Android device by means of a cloud service—the Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) service.
