Text features possess a text string and associated location geometry. The text string may be in any language encoding. The location may be any geometry type (such as a line or polygon), but the most common expectation is that the location is a point. The centroid of the location geometry represents the insertion point of an annotation, understood as the lower-left corner of the text. The text geometry also stores text size, rotation, and justification. Multiline text is represented by embedding carriage return characters within the text string.
