A composite solid is a collection of connected solids. The components can be simple solids only.
While it is often expected that composite solids are contiguous (that the collection must share faces, so that the collection can represent a contiguous solid), no such topological restrictions are enforced by FME in storing composite solids.
The orientation of the composite solid is determined by checking the orientation of the first solid.
It is also intended that all members of the composite are oriented in a way consistent with their neighbors. However, no such adjacent orientation restrictions are enforced by FME in storing composite solids.
If required, transformers may be used to alter or repair composite solids.
Optionally, composite solids may have front or back appearances, and may be single or double sided.
